Camp Blaze is a nonprofit organization committed to maximizing women's involvement in the fire service through education, networking, advocacy, and policy development.The mission of Blaze is to develop, support, and implement an annual camp for qualified young women to learn about the fire service and to have a great time while they're at it.

Young women will learn, among many other things: 

  • rappelling
  • using self-contained breathing apparatus
  • search and rescue
  • aerial ladder climbing
  • teamwork

Members of the Camp Blaze Founding Directors represent the Seattle Fire Deparment, San Francisco Fire Department, Boulder Colorado Fire Department, San Diego Fire and Life Safety, Fort Worth Fire Department, Oakland Fire Department, and the Tacoma Fire Department.


Next Camp -- 2011! Camp Blaze is a bi-annual camp and will be held again in the summer of 2011. Information and applications will be available on this site in January, 2011. Thanks for your interest.
